Skydio makes self-flying drones whose AI tracks and follows people and vehicles without a pilot. Deployed by more than 1,000 US public-safety agencies in 'drone-as-first-responder' programs, plus the military and Ukraine, its aircraft extend persistent aerial surveillance over neighborhoods and the battlefield. After China sanctioned it in 2024 and choked its battery supply, Skydio leaned into US manufacturing and a hardened X10D defense drone; a 2026 round valued it at about $4.4 billion. Andreessen Horowitz led its Series A.
